For anyone struggling with body image, self esteem, not feeling attractive or thin enough or working on accepting yourself & loving yourself:
Standing in front of a mirror (preferably nude) and looking at your “flaws” and saying “I love you” over and over does help in the long run.
It helps you feel more comfortable with your reflection and your natural naked body. It will help you see things differently the longer you work on it. And positive self talk, especially while looking in a mirror, is incredible for self-esteem, confidence & validation.
Just take 30 seconds, a minute, however long you can right now and look at yourself naked and bare in front of the mirror. instead of cringing and automatically saying “I wish this was like this” or “I hate such and such” try observing your body as someone else would - with curiosity & playfulness.
Thank your body for being strong and helping you live this life. Even if there are some medical or disability problems that doesn’t take away from how beautiful & strong & loving your body is. It works day and night to do its best to keep you safe.
Finally start saying “I love you ___” to all your parts even if you don’t mean it at first. Even just saying it out loud helps that thought become that much more real to your conscious and subconscious mind, slowly rewriting over old ways of thinking & feeling
Good luck & if anyone actually does this & wants to share their experience I would love to hear!
